TOMORROW is National Wear Red Day. Why? Because the #1 killer of women is HEART DISEASE and awareness needs to be raised. Unfortunately, heart disease runs in my family so this hits really close to home for me. How about you? So many of us have loved ones that are either dealing with heart disease or have lost a loved one because of it. Fortunately, according to www.goredforwomen.org, 80% of cardiac events can be prevented with education and lifestyle changes!

If you read my post about 30 being my number for the year {HERE} or my post about creating a healthier lifestyle {HERE}, then you know that I am on a serious mission to upgrade my health and live a much healthier life. It’s days like National Wear Red Day that really get me motivated! We only have one shot at this life, so why not live it the healthy way.

The biggest problem, in my opinion, is that us women are so worried about taking care of everyone and everything other than themselves. We choose to leave little time to really focus on the #1 thing that matters most, OUR HEALTH. Without it, we can’t keep up with our busy lives and won’t be the best wife/friend/mom/coworker we can be.

So Friday, let’s do this together! Let’s WEAR RED {dig through those closets and find something!} and be intentional about our decisions. Let’s focus on the healthy {and not so healthy} decisions we are making. What are we eating? Are we constantly stressing over something? When do we feel happiest during the day? Do we have the energy we want? Taking a quick health inventory throughout the day might just motivate all of us even more to make some little lifestyle changes. And ladies, even small lifestyle changes can truly lead to big results!
